We bought Weica as a filly in 1982. She was the
first mare we bred with, and all our successes and experiences
started with this outstanding mare, who was equally talented for
jumping and dressage and a wonderful mother and broodmare.

Weica's sire was the Westphalian WEINBERG, who was standing in the next village and who delivered international jumpers as well as famous dressage horses. He sired Goldstern, who dominated the international dressage scene for some while with Klaus Balkenhol, winning e.g. Team Gold Medal at the Olympics in Barcelona. Whereas Wisby D (U. Meyer zu Bexten), Wum (K. Gravemeier), and Warren (Lutz Gripshöver) jumped internally .
St.Pr.St. AMAZONE, Weica's dam, was sired by
the well known westfalian ADLERORDEN,
who sired as well the international crack Argonaut brachte,
who won with his riders Franke Sloothaak and Bernhard
Kamps more than 230.000 Euros.
Amazone produced as well the licensed stallion Phantom (by Pilot), who not only sired many
jumpers but jumped himself very successfull at national and
international level with his rider Heiner Rohmann.
Amazone was mother of further jumpers like Pilot's
Delight.
Grandmother RETINA produced as well
Ariadne, dam of Percy Flade (by Pilot),
who became 5th at the Bundeschampionat in 1992 of the 6year old
jumpers and was later sold for DM 560.000 at the
PSI-auction.
Retina's sire RADETZKY, stallion at the NRW
Landgestüt, was trained up to dressage Grand Prix level and
belonged in his time to one of the best dressage sires. His
father RAMZES X, is famous for delivering
international show jumpers like Retina (F. Thiedemann),
Romanus (H.G. Winkler) and Roman and is as well the greatfather of
RAMIRO Z.

1986 granted Verbandsprämienstute
Parallel to carrying and having a foal Weica was competing
successfully in showjumping up to advanced level
(class M 1.30m ) and got several winnings and placements.
Due to the international successes of her offspring, Weica became quite known throughout Europe. She produced six offspring, of whom five were sired by the later famous Pilot. All offspring were successful jumpers, some of them competed even at international level (Pro Pilot II, Co-Pilot). 2 of her sons were approved stallions. Her only daughter Piroschka was granted Elite mare and her only two offspring Qualisca and Gratianus (approved stallion) both jumped at the international level.
Weica died in 1993 six weeks after giving birth to her last foal
due to a heavy colic.
As she had produced only one daughter Piroschka (who died a
year earlier on colic), Piroschkas only daughter Qualisca (by
Quidam) was bred by Margo van den Hoogen to Quito de
Baussy and produced Qui Vive, who until now continues this
important mare-line in Holland. Qualisca herself competed later at
international level under Robert Whitaker.
